NMSTU hosted the presentation of the Fulbright programs

On the 13th of May NMSTU received a visit from Joel Ericson, Director of the Fulbright Program in Russia. The purpose of his visit was to present the largest scholarship program funded by the Government of the USA.

Joel Ericson, PhD in Political Science, one of leading world experts in education and innovation, Head of the Fulbright Program in Russia, Director of the Institute of International Education (IIE), visited Magnitogorsk at the invitation of Personal Corporate Training Center. As part of his visit, he held a meeting with postgraduate students, teachers and staff of NMSTU to present the well-known Fulbright program for Russian citizens.

Material scientists from all over the world have met at the high-level online conference Magnitogorsk Materials Week

The 5th Magnitogorsk Materials Week was held in memory of professor Alexander Zhilyaev. From the 5th of April till the 7th of April, well-known material scientists will pay tribute to the outstanding scholar and present their reports at the conference.

Alexander Zhilyaev, a leading scientist in engineering of nanostructured materials, Head of the Laboratory “Mechanics of Gradient Nanomaterials”, Chief Researcher of the Institute for Metals Superplasticity Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences, passed away in 2020 due to a long-term illness. Being an eminent scholar and a wise teacher, he made a fundamental contribution to the development of Russian and global science by devoting his life to studying the structure and properties of materials.

Fantasy Becomes Reality

The industrial exoskeleton Exorise, in the development of which there is a great contribution on the part of NMSTU researchers, were presented in a popular TV programme Zdorovie with Elena Malysheva broadcasted by Russia’s Channel One.

NMSTU took part in an international event

The Snowboard World Cup stage was held on the 6th and 7th of February on the Bannoye resort. 120 snowboarders from 17 countries took part in this competition.

The NMSTU students could not miss such large-scale event. The Youth Policy Department organized an area devoted to the university. Within two days cultural event organizers shared joy and fun among visitors.

NMSTU set up three new laboratories

On the Russian Science Day Nosov Magnitogorsk State Technical University launched three research equipment sharing centers. They were set up to follow the priorities of development of the university in research, education and innovation.

The first research equipment sharing center is the VR and AR Laboratory, which is used to train professionals in pass-through digital technologies by involving them into cross-disciplinary projects, and to study a potential application of current VR and AR technologies in education, tourism, power engineering, machinery, architecture and other areas.

NMSTU and universities of the Southern Ural will promote the development of the region

Mikhail Chukin, Rector of NMSTU, and rectors of two major universities of the Chelyabinsk Region together with the research center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences signed the agreement on establishing a research and education consortium and intended to jointly participate in Priority-2030, the federal program of strategic academic leadership.
