Nosov Magnitogorsk StateTechnical University Joins Russian-Indian Association of Higher Education Institutions

During the official visit to the Russian Federation of the President of India Pranab Mukherjee, on the initiative of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia and the Ministry of Human Resource Development of India, a round table of rectors of leading universities of the two countries took place at Lomonosov Moscow State University on May 8. The meeting discussed the prospects of development of inter-university cooperation and the establishment of Russian-Indian Association of Universities.


Following the discussion, the Declaration on the establishment of the Russian-Indian association of leading higher educational institutions of Russia and India was signed. The universities, whose executives signed the declaration, will be actively involved in the development of academic mobility of students and teachers, the development of joint educational programmes, joint research, organization of research conferences and seminars, cooperation in staff training for industrial enterprises. On the part of NMSTU the declaration was signed by the university rector V. M. Kolokoltsev. National coordinators of the association's activities will be Tomsk State University and the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.
It should be noted that since 2012 Magnitogorsk State Technical University has been cooperating with the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in research and educational projects. During the visit, the University rector V.M. Kolokoltsev held talks with Devang V. Khakhar, Director of the Indian Institute, on expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
